I can't believe there's only 5 weeks left till spring semester is done! I'm excited but then again I think I can wait. Seeing how I'll be taking summer classes...ug. And they're going to be a lot harder than the cake walk ones I'm taking now. But it will be so much fun with babies, sun, vacations, bbq's, and friends!
Spring break was both wonderful and lame. It was most unproductive spring break I've ever had! I didn't get all the things done that I wanted to. But it was wonderful seeing how it was all play. Ray loved ever second of it. He mostly played games and worked for a couple of hours each day. It was fun to spend time with our friends and each other. It will be hard to get back into the grove of things, especially since I managed to get a cold on top of being pregnant. I hope it goes away quickly. I don't think having the baby while having a cold would be ideal. Especially since I can't really breathe with all the congestion I'm dealing with.
Oh yes, I did have my appointment this past week as well. And to my dismay, I hadn't progressed, which I expected, but was still bummed to hear. The doctor did say that I was 75% thinned. So that's good, but I'm still only dilated at a one. However, now I am all for waiting another week to have this baby. Next weekend would be perfect. It will give me another week to finish all my classes (the ones that I said I would finish over spring break) and to have my whole family here, since it will be their spring break. And I do believe it's Ray's family's as well, so it would be nice for them to come visit too during that time. It would be the best for both families. And although, me and Ray will still have school, it will be easier to deal with having my mom to help with the adjustment and to babysit when I have my class. But she'll probably come this week now that I don't want her to come haha. Isn't that how it works? Well, we will see.
This summer, me and Ray are planning on staying in Cedar. I will be taking four classes so that we won't have to pay for our housing during the summer. I also get $2,500 grant to help pay for my classes, which if we didn't have, I wouldn't be taking any classes. Ray just applied for a job at a nursing home just down the road. So he'll be working full time there and getting experience in the nursing field. I'm hoping that my current job will open up another lab during the summer on campus so that I will be able to work and bring our baby girl with me. We really need the money, so we're both hoping for it to happen. It will also help me to be motivated to loose weight and do my homework. The school is about 2 miles....ish away so I could walk to and from work each day. And while at work, I'll just be at the computer manning the lab so it will be easy for me to do my homework seeing how there will be nothing else to do. It'd just be perfect! But we'll see if it actually happens. Pray for us!
My goal this summer is to loose 35 pounds. I gained 20 pounds from my pregnancy and then the 15 I gained when I first moved down here to school. I'm glad I have good friends who will help me. We plan on going walking every day. Their pregnant as well and it will help them through their labor. At least that's what the doctor's say. Plus its just plan old good for you! Its going to be baby mania here! We're all so excited. My friend, Ada, is due in July. And then our other friend, Amanda, is due in October, I believe. She already has a sweet little girl, Emery, who we absolutely adore! And then we have a few neighbors who are expecting during the summer also. So it will be fun. I look forward to it, just not the school part. I really hope I'll be motivated enough to do well in my classes. I don't really have a choice though.
We have two big trips planned for the summer. My family is going to Newport, Oregon for a week and then driving down the coast. I'm so excited to take Ray! I'm not sure how it will pan out with a baby, but my family will be there to help so I'm not too worried. Then in august our annual trip to Lake Powell. I'm so excited this year! I won't be sick. I'll be able to enjoy myself and actually have fun and do things. I plan on leaving our little girl with my family while we're there. Just the thought of taking her scares me. A whole week in the blistering hot sun, having to nurse in the night and during the day. I don't think Ray's family will handle it well. And I think that it will be a nice break for me and Ray. Have some time to ourselves and just enjoy time together. I'm sure I'll have a hard time being away and my mommy insticts will come through. But I think it will be for the best.
I look forward to having a new addition to our family. At times it seems overwhelming and I'm not sure how we'll be able to do it with everything else going on. But the constant reassurance from the spirit, friends, and family help me so much. I know her sweet little spirit will be such a blessing in our lives. She will add so much to our little family and we will learn so much for her. I'm excited for this new step in mine and Ray's journey. I know it won't always be wonderful and how we want it to be, but I know it will be so worthwhile.
