Mady is 2 months!

So I know this is a day late, but we don't have internet at home anymore so its kinda hard to find time to do it at the school when I have homework to do. I can't believe Mady is 2 months old! It seems like just the other day we brought her home from the hospital. She's starting to develop her own personality. Its adorable, but she can be a real pill sometimes.

A few things that I want to remember are:
♥ She loves making cute little sounds
♥ We play this game where we make sounds back and forth to each other. So cute!
♥ She loves having her diaper changed
♥ She loves being held and cuddled
♥ She sleeps for about 6-7 hours
♥ And best of all, she's starting to smile alot! I love it.

So we have learned that I cannot drink caffine. Its quite depressing since Mt. Dew is my favorite. But it makes Mady wired! During the day she will only take two one hour naps as a posed to 3-4 2 hour naps. And at night she will only sleep 3-4 hours compared to 6-7 hours. So as sad as it is, I've given up my Mt. Dew until I stop breastfeeding her.

Classes have been hard with Mady and not having the internet. I have now opted to going to work with Ray and having his help with Mady so that I can get my homework done. Its been great! Mady usually sleeps for 3-4 hours while at work so that she's not a big distraction. The only problem is that she wakes right up when we try and put her down; so she has to be held the whole time. Which is fine for us, if I'm reading my chapters I'll hold her and Ray is still able to play his games and do whatever while she's in his arms. I've really enjoyed my time with Ray at the labs, even though I'm just doing homework and he's playing his games. Just to have him close helping me out has been wonderful. Definitely beats being home alone trying to do it by myself.

Today we have two siblings graduating from highschool. Kim and Ethan. Its hard to believe my little sister is graduating! I'm sure Ray is thinking the same thing about Ethan. It seems like she's too young to be journeying out into the world and going to college and dating guys and possibly getting married in the next 2 years....ugh scary. At least she will be coming down to SUU to go to college. That way I can keep an eye on her and all the guys she'll be attracting. And I get another babysitter! Score!

So me and Ray are trying to loose some weight. Haha both of us have guts now! We are quite displeased. So we've been running and biking to the school with Mady and now we're trying to go swimming each morning before work for an hour. We've also been doing push ups, sit ups and crunches each night. Its been hard and we've been sore but its totally worth it. My goal is to have a bikini bod by the time our family goes to lake powell. But me and Ray are also wanting to get in shape for cedar city's half marathon. Its in September so hopefully we'll be able to do it.

This summmer, Justin, my brother has been living with us. He works for part of the week down at a ranch in the grand canyon and then has 2-3 days off during the week. So we're keeping his stuff at our place until next fall. He loves his job. I hope that we'll be able to go visit and see what he does down there. Justin is also dating this cute girl Jessica. I really like her, which is saying something. Since I've always had problems with the girls he's dated in the past. They seem to be getting serious so we'll see what happens :). I'd love to have her in the family.

Speaking of which, we're adding a new person to the family in the next week. Jemma is getting married to a guy named Jacob. He seems sweet enough. He's just someone I'll have to get used to, but as long as Jemma is happy that's all the matters. I'm sure that's what Ray's family thought when we were dating and decided to get married. Even Jemma outright showed her dislike for me. So just like her with me I'll have to get used to her fellow.

Ray's grandparents are also coming down for the wedding. We don't get to see them very often because they live in Oregon so we're excited to see them. Mady is their first great-grandchild. So I do believe they are excited to finally meet her.

Oh and before I go, I must give credit to my friend Rebekah. I stole her idea of putting up pictures of Mady on the side of her growing. So yes I am a copy cat but I loved the idea!

In My Daughter's Eyes

By Martina Mcbride

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I want to be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hanging on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

A Busy But Wonderful Week

The past two weeks Ray, Mady, and I went up north to visit our families. Our main reason for going up was for 3 weddings, a baby shower, 2 farewells, 2 baby blessings, and my best friend's endowment. So it was a very eventful. It was fun to stay a while with our families. Ray and I actually got to go on a few dates without Mady. My mom was all too happy to pay for our dates and shove us out the door to spend time with her granddaughter. We also got with our friends from both ends. Alicia, Leisl, and Sariah came to visit while down in Ephraim. And then at Ray's we had Brandon and Annie come visit. It was also fun for both me and Ray to go to Kenny and Jillaye's bachelor and bachelorette party. It was nice to have some girl time, as I'm sure Ray enjoyed his boy time all too well.

The only bad thing about the trip was Ray's temple recommend expired. So we weren't able to go to any of our friend's sealings nor to the temple to do a session. I did however go to my friend Leisl's endowment without Ray. I wouldn't have missed that for the world. I'm so proud of Leisl. She's going on her mission to Barcelona, Spain; spanish speaking. I will miss her dearly, but I know that the people in Spain need her more than I do. We have whole summer before she leaves, so I plan on spending a lot of time with her. It will be fun.

Kenny and Jillaye had a most wonderful wedding. It was gorgeous! Kenny and Jillaye met clear back in 2004, their senior year in highschool, and started dating. Through all these years they finally got married. Both of them went on missions and waited for each other. Their story is like a fairytale. So cute. Here's some pictures of the happy couple.

Oh, and I must give a shout out to our dear friends Annie and Brandon! It was their one year anniversary the same day as Kenny and Jillaye's wedding. They are such a cute couple! Love love love them to pieces!!

I also got to do my sister in law, Jemma's, hair for her bridals. I thought it turned out pretty good for only have an hour and a half to do it. I don't have pictures yet, but I'll snag a few once her photographer is done with them.

It was such a carefree and relaxing week, aside from all the events we had going on. Now, that we're back home we have to buckle down. One of my classes started and I'm determine to finish that one as soon as I can. My professor said he'll open it up for me which will be great. Ray is still trying to find a job. He has the one at the school but there is no way we could get by with making $250 a month. With buying a new car, paying for all of Mady's expenses, plus school....yeah we need another job. So hopefully the places Ray applied for will let us know soon.

We're moving into our new apartment next week! I'm so excited. Only for the bathtub, not the whole moving part. My mom and dad are planning and coming down and helping us out. The apartment is just around the corner from where we're at now, but we have a lot of stuff...unfortunately. So we'll need some help.

Oh yes, while we were up north, my friend Anna took some more pictures of Mady for me. You can never have too many :). Here are some of my favorites. I'd put them all on, but I dear say there are too many. So too bad for you. Anyway, enjoy!
