The Rest of August

The rest of August was great! We spent time at the Martel's playing and having fun.

I started my job as Payroll Accountant at Snow College, I love it. This is my new office.

 It also means Mady gets to stay home with Daddy on the day's he doesn't work.

And gets to go to Preschool/Daycare on the days he does. She absolutely LOVES preschool. Which is such a turn around from "daycare". She freaks out and starts crying if we call it daycare. This is Mady in front of her "Preschool".

This was parent's night at her preschool. We got to meet the teachers and the kids put on a cute skit called "Leo the Lion". 

I also started Mady in dance. Which she is just thrilled about. After 3 days of dancing, these cute little 3-5 yr olds performed. It was so cute and Mady did great!

I also took Ray to his first derby. He loved it, to say the least.

We found out what we were having, and we are beyond excited!!

We have a few names. Jackson, Lincoln, and Kenley. Let's see if they last the test of time.

I can't believe this pregnancy has gone by so fast. I'm feeling much better with the all day sickness. I do feel like I just popped out overnight though. 

Ray works nights mostly, so me and this little girl get to stay up and watch movies in bed together. Tonight was really special because I let her have popcorn in my bed.

We watched Ice Age. I thought it would be a cute movie that she would enjoy. But apparently, not. She cried 4 different times throughout the movie. Once when the mom dies, when it shoes the mammoth's wife and baby die; when the bad tigers get the snowman baby; and then at the very end when the baby is reunited with his Daddy. I felt so bad, I guess I didn't realize how traumatic those parts would be for a little kid. I think I'll wait a while before we watch that one again.

The Fair is in Town!

Last year in Cedar City, I took Mady to the fair and she had a blast. When she saw that the fair was in town, she begged and begged to go. So after having her to some jobs to earn money, we all got in the car to go.

We first went to the parade that morning. Mady got so much candy! 

It must have been her cute factor.

Ray and I were super upset when we saw what the prices were for the tickets to ride the rides. Ray was against it, but when I tried to explain to Mady that we wouldn't be going on rides, she burst into tears saying she did jobs to earn money. 

I couldn't bear to have Mady so sad when she earned that money, even if it was only a $1.00. So I went and bought the tickets anyways. 

Mady was so happy, it was totally worth it. 

We also took Mady around these houses which told about farm life. It was an Eagle Scout project for a young man in the area. It's so stinkin cute and free! 

Mady thought these cockroaches were cool. Good thing Ray was here, because I didn't even go into that house.

This was probably my favorite - teaching the kids how to milk a cow.

Mady thought it was pretty cool.

It wouldn't be a fair without all the animals. Mady sure loved the cute calves.

This bull was sooo huge! I couldn't believe how big he was.

He weighed in at 2,530 lbs!

I was really upset with a few of the rides there, like the merry-go-round and a few others. They wouldn't let Ray or I go stand by Mady while she rode without us paying as well. So ridiculous. I understand the FerrisWheel. But the others were ridiculous.

So I let Mady choose just one of the rides that we had to go on with her. She chose the Ferris Wheel. She wanted to go on it again, but we didn't have enough for the both of us. 

So I let Mady go on the playground. She was hesitant at first, because we couldn't go with her. But she eventually did it.

And she loved it!

I'm not sure what we will do the next time the fair is in town. I may just wait and go to the ones in Cedar or up north by Ray's parents. Since those ones don't rip you off AS BAD as the one down here in Sanpete. But at least Mady had fun. That's all that mattered. 

Lake Powell

Lake Powell was so much fun this year, despite being pregnant. I was really worried, because last time I went to Lake Powell pregnant, I was a raging hormonal psychopath. IT. WAS. BAD. I think God heard my countless prayers and hormonal crying moments about how worried I was about this trip. 

On our drive, we had to stop a few times with Mady drinking juice and me being pregnant. There were some really pretty pit stops on the way, though. 

Mady really enjoyed the scenery, too.

Mady had so much fun. She loved being in the water, playing in the sand, and just plain being outside. She wore Ray and I out with how much energy she had everyday. 

Since we always go to Lake Powell during Barb's birthday, Ray and I decided to start making a tradition of homemade rootbeer and icecream cake. As you can see...the cake didn't make it this year, unfortunately. Maybe next year.

We also talked Dad into letting us bring friends! Brandon and Annie were able to come with us. It was so fun to have them there.

Best part about Lake Powell right here - just laying out, dozing off, and just talking.

Pretty much the best thing ever when your 17 weeks pregnant. 

Can't forget about our amazing sand castle! This one definitely made the top 5.

We all went on a hike to the "Eye". Which is where you can see Halls Bay and Bullfrog.

Joey and Naketa led the way.

After a few days of being at Lake Powell, we found that there was something wrong with the run-around boat. So we didn't get to go out on the lake and through the canyons the rest of the week. It wasn't very fun having to stay at the boat all the time, but thank goodness for good company and games.

Dad did let us take the boat for one last short run to Lost Eden with Brandon and Annie. It was Annie's first time going to Lake Powell, so at least she got to see something.
