We Are a Happy Family

I forgot how hard it is to stay cooped up at home with a new baby when its cold out. I am just getting so anxious to go out and do stuff. I had to go in to work to see how things were. I didn't stay long but it was nice to get out.

Mady sure has been so sweet with Carson. She loves to be Mommy with me. Here she is reading Carson a book.
Seriously the sweetest thing ever.
She loved this book when she was little and remembered how it went even though we haven't read it in a year, give or take.
As I said before, I loved every excuse to get out. Lately its been just to spend more one on one time with Mady. We took her babies on a walk to the store.
She wouldn't look at the camera when I tried to take a picture.
So I had to be sneaky.
She was quite the trooper. She walked the whole 7 blocks pushing her stroller. We both enjoyed the walk, even if it was cold.
Well, we got the results back. Carson's bilirubin was at a 19.5. Way too high for comfort. So he now has to be under the lights.
It breaks my heart to have to leave him in there except to eat and change a diaper. He doesn't like it much and will just scream. Hopefully this won't last very long.
Mady and I went to the library for story time and to check out books. Ray is all to happy to let us go while he watches Carson. We are so lucky to have a great Dad!
Can you believe this little man is 3 weeks? Yeah, me neither. Crazy how time flies!
This is pretty much the only way we can get him to go in the lights and not scream for a good 15-30 min. He loves to be bundled. So we hold him till he's asleep then lay him down and carefully unwrap him.
I just love me some cuddle time before he has to go back in the lights! Yes, he still has to be in the lights. :( I had to stop breastfeeding him because the doctor thinks that there is something in my milk that it making his liver not work right. So we are testing the theory.
And my little Carson Ray turned a month old!
He is just the most cutest little man on the block!
And another one just for fun.
My Grandpa finally came home from the hospital up north. He had another heart attack and the doctors did a bypass on him. They also put a heart monitor thing in him to help his heart. We sure missed him.
They hadn't seen Carson since he was in the hospital, so I had to take pictures of them with the kids.
They are such wonderful Grandparents!
I'm so lucky to still have a pair of Grandparents alive today so I can share them with my kids.
We love them so much and hope they stay around for a long time!
Sometimes I just have to take pictures of how silly this girl is. She loves tutus and dance costumes. I can barely get her to put clothes on half the time without one or the other on her. Today is was a tutu day.
Check out this amazing man of mine. We had a date night, complete with movies and treats in bed. I was searching for a movie and he comes in with this. Seriously how sweet is he!?
We finally got a huge snow storm with the perfect snowman making snow! Mady was so excited!
So Ray went out with her and helped her make our family.
You can't see it, but Ray actually made a snowbaby Carson, which snowman Shay is holding. Pretty awesome, if you ask me!

Lindon, Parties, and More

Its been so nice to finally have our little man here. Its hard sometimes with the waking up at night, breastfeeding, and having no energy. But I'm slowly getting used to it. He makes it all worth it.

There is one thing that has been super hard. And that's being stuck in the house ALL day long. Man it gets so old. I get so antsy. So I've been taking Carson out a lot earlier than planned, but hopefully he'll be fine.

I've mostly been going to my parents house. Mady loves playing with the girls and if I'm really lucky, someone will take Carson so I can nap for a bit.

We've been celebrating birthday after birthday. First, Aaron turned 17! Crazy eh? Here he is all dressed up and ready to go to prom. Handsome, no?
Mady loved helping him open up the presents. And Aaron was kind enough to let her help.
My Mom made him a rice krispie cake. Delicious!
He had a great time at Prom, he bearly made it though. His group decided to go up north for their date and on the way back got in an accident. Luckily, no one was badly hurt - mostly just scrapes and bruises. This is what the car looked like.
But as I said, they did make it to the dance and had a great time despite the close death encounter. We're super glad they were all safe.
Next, we celebrated Annette's birthday.
She is the best aunt ever! And we are so lucky to have her right next door.
We love and apprecicate all she does for us! Happy 47th Annette!
We also celebrated Breanne's. I don't have any pictures but Breanne had a great "Sport" themed party. Filled with lots of presents and fun games.

Tiffany also performed down at Dixie for her dance competition. She did such a great job! She has a super cute solo part in the dance, which is hilarious.
Great job Tiffany!
As I said before, I try to get out of the house as much as possible. When Carson was about 2 weeks old, I talked Ray into going up and seeing his family. It was so nice to get out of Sanpete. I even got naps with Carson, since Mady was occupied.
And look at all these Grandchildren!
We also celebrated Papa Joe's birthday. Geez, we have a lot of birthday's in  January. And Kaslo and Carson got some bonding time together. They're going to be best friends. These two little guys are only 6 weeks apart.
They are going to get in a lot of trouble when they grow bigger. But for now they are just too cute. This picture cracks me up - Mostly because it looks like I gave birth to a Mexican baby when he's next to Kaslo. He's totally Naketa's baby. :)

Home and Coping

We were so excited to come home right away. I guess I'm just not much of a hospital person. I thought this time around may be different, but nope. I wanted to get out of there and back into my own bed with my own as soon as I could.
It definitely helped that Ray is a nurse. They let me go home with him on strict guidelines to watch over me. Carson looks a little dead to me with that tongue of his sticking out. Haha
He is our little guy all ready to go home. I forgot socks, but at least we had about 5 blankets we could choose from to bundle him with.
When we got home, we found my Mom and sisters there waiting for us. They were cleaning the house for me. Mady was so excited to see us. She wanted to hold Carson right away.
So while I have been catching up on my sleep, Ray has been a great help in watching the kids.
He pulled out all his legos and started sorting them so he could make a tower. Mady was all too willing to help!
This kid is so great! He sleeps good, nurses good, and is just so fun to cuddle.
We just love him so much!
Grandma just can't get enough of these two. A movie night watching Frozen was super fun with everyone!
It hasn't been too bad getting up in the middle of the night to feed this little guy. Surprisingly, I don't mind it taking me an hour to nurse and then pump.
Thank goodness for internet though, I don't think I could be as content nursing for that long if I didn't have it. I"ve been super scared to get mastitis again, so I've been pumping after each feeding. So far I'm good though.
Mady has been so funny. Wherever Carson is sleeping, you can be sure to find her baby next to him. She cracks us up!
I know I have like 5 of the same pictures here, but I just couldn't choose which one to post, so I posted all of them.
And look, he's smiling! Probably just gas, but I love it all the same.
